2008-09 Boys Teams Class 1
Beginning August 1, 2008

Class 1 Soccer, also known as Select soccer, is for players that have developed a high level of skill and want to compete at the highest level. Tryouts are held to select the players and players compete for starting positions, there is no minimum play time. There can be a significant amount of travel, as Class 1 teams compete throughout the whole year.

Teams compete in the local CYSA Abronzino League and the NorCal Premier League. Class 1 teams regularly compete in tournaments and may travel as far as Southern California and even out of state. Class 1 players have a high level of dedication and commitment to their teams and training, practice three of four days a week in not unusual. Due to the travel and tournaments, playing on a Class 1 team can be expensive but some teams have sponsors and fundraising activities to support the costs.

2007-08 Boys Teams Class 3

Class 3 soccer, also known as competitive, or comp, is for players who have a high level of interest in advancing their soccer skills. Tryouts are held to select players, and players on U9-U10 teams must play a minimum 50% of each game.

Teams compete in the local CYSA Delgado League and the NorCal Premier League. Teams that compete in the CYSA Delgado League travel and compete in the Bay Area. Teams competing in the NorCal Premier League can travel as far as Sonoma County , Sacramento and the Fresno. Class 3 teams also compete in tournaments in Northern California.

Santa Clara Sporting '98 Boys Team - If your son was born on or after August 1, 1998, then he would be eligible to tryout for this new team. Tryouts will be held at Sutter Elementary School on Sunday,  Feb 3rd from 9:30am-11am (registration at 9:10am) and 1-3pm with check-in at 12:25pm.
