2008-09 Girls Teams Class 1
Beginning August 1, 2008

Class 1 Soccer, also known as Select soccer, is for players that have developed a high level of skill and want to compete at the highest level. Tryouts are held to select the players and players compete for starting positions, there is no minimum play time. There can be a significant amount of travel, as Class 1 teams compete throughout the whole year.

Teams compete in the local CYSA Abronzino League and the NorCal Premier League. Class 1 teams regularly compete in tournaments and may travel as far as Southern California and even out of state. Class 1 players have a high level of dedication and commitment to their teams and training, practice three of four days a week in not unusual. Due to the travel and tournaments, playing on a Class 1 team can be expensive but some teams have sponsors and fundraising activities to support the costs.

Santa Clara Sporting '98 Girls Teams (U10 Fall 2008)
The Sporting '98G Team is looking for experienced players born after 07/31/98 looking to join our U10 Class 1 Teams this Fall. Club goalies can receive free keeper training with a licensed trainer.  Open practices are a great way to check out the teams since we still have space for a few additional players. SC Sporting '97 White Girls Class 1 Team (Class 1 U11 in Fall 2008)

SC Sporting Girls ‘95 Soccer Team (Class 1 U13 in Fall 2008)
Team finished 3rd at 2007 District Cup and are a powerhouse team in Northern California. They are having open tryouts at their weekly practices at the Soccer Park from 5pm-7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The team is looking for players in all positions. 2008-09 Girls Teams Class 3
Begining August 1, 2008

Class 3 soccer, also known as competitive, or comp, is for players who have a high level of interest in advancing their soccer skills. Tryouts are held to select players, and players on U9-U10 teams must play a minimum 50% of each game.

Teams compete in the local CYSA Delgado League and the NorCal Premier League. Teams that compete in the CYSA Delgado League travel and compete in the Bay Area. Teams competing in the NorCal Premier League can travel as far as Sonoma County , Sacramento and the Fresno. Class 3 teams also compete in tournaments in Northern California.

Santa Clara Sporting '96 U12 Girls Class 3 Team
The Santa Clara Sporting '96 Girls Class 3 Team is holding tryouts June 3rd and June 5th at Sutter Field from 5pm-6:30pm. Players should be born between 8/1/96-7/31/97. The objective of the team is to introduce girls to competitive soccer; for players interested in advancing their soccer skills in a fun team enviornment with a focus on player development.
